Mer des Mascareignes Limitée is a joint venture between SAPMER and IBL Group (50/50).
Purposefully built right next to the fish landing quays and appropriate designated cold-rooms within the Freeport zone of Port-Louis harbour (Mauritius – Indian Ocean), the state of the art quality frozen fish processing facility began its operations in March 2008.
It processes mainly abundant pelagic species like, yellow fin tuna, big eye and skipjack. These species are caught by tuna purse seiners and longliners. They are frozen on board at below -40°C. Other species include toothfish and grenadier caught in the austral seas further south.
Processed and packed according to customer requirements, the finished products are exported all around the world.
